What to Expect
The Wiz is a vibrant, funky musical with a modern twist on the classic Wizard of Oz story. Here’s how your child will get ready for their big moment:
Singing: They'll learn to belt out show-stopping songs with confidence and emotion! With expert guidance, they'll master vocal techniques and become stage-ready. Plus, each student will get the chance for a one-on-one online singing lesson with Mr. James himself, where they’ll receive personalized tips to take their singing skills to the next level.
Acting Skills: It's all about becoming the character! They'll develop their acting chops, working on character development, emotional expression, and stage presence. Your child will feel like they’ve stepped right into the world of The Wiz.
Dancing: High-energy, fun choreography designed to bring the magic of The Wiz to life. They'll get to groove to funky beats and move in ways that make the performance pop!
Online Singing Lesson: Every student gets a one-on-one online singing lesson with Mr. James to perfect their vocal skills.
Commitment: This program runs from September - December, culminating in the December performance.
Performance Fee: $300 (billed at a later date, covering costumes, sets, and performance costs)
Performance Opportunity
After months of hard work, they’ll have their moment to shine at our December performance, showcasing everything they’ve learned. Family, friends, and the community will be there to cheer them on as they perform the iconic musical numbers and unforgettable dance routines from The Wiz. Get ready for an unforgettable show!
Attendance Policy
To ensure your child is fully prepared for the performance, we ask that students do not miss more than 3 classes throughout the program. Regular attendance is key to learning the choreography, songs, and acting skills needed for the performance.
